The Theory Of Awesomeness

I came away with so many mind shift moments and “golden nugget” ideas, that I just had to share with you here on Live Without Limits. And I’ll address some of my favorite points below in this post.

The Balance Of Life – Being Happy In The Now, While Having A Vision For The Future
The 4 States Of Mind…
1. Negative Spiral – you’re depressed, you’re not happy AND you have no vision for the future. In this state, you really need professional help from a therapist or counselor, or to seek spiritual help…you’re not happy with where you at and you have no direction where you want to go.
2. Current Reality Trap – you’re happy in the now, but you have no vision for the future.content with your life, but no vision pulling you forward.
You may ask, “If I’m happy, what’s the problem?”
…Simply, you’re not fulfilling your God-given purpose, you’re not living out your passions and dreams, and most importantly, you’re not leaving an impact on other people, which is what fully satisfies us all.
If you aren’t growing, you’re doing a disservice to your mission and to the world. Dream big, play big and push your boundaries. By letting your light shine, you grant permission for others to do the same. – Marrianne Williamson
3. Stress & Anxiety – you have a vision for the future, but you’re not happy in the now…you have big goals, big vision, but there’s a disconnect between where you’re at now and your vision. Therefore you cause yourself to feel anxiety, stress, and dissatisfaction with life.
Most entrepreneurs are in this state. I can relate and tell you that’s where I’ve been most of my career. I’ve had great big dreams of what I wanted to do, but never was fully content with where I was at the moment.
If you want things to work out though, you have to live in a state of gratitude and contentment with what God has given you, where you’re at right now, and with everything that’s happened to you up until now.
4. State of Flow – you’re happy in the now AND you have a vision for the future. When you’re in this state, it’s almost as if the Universe has your back…things just come into being that align with your vision.
The FLOW State
You likely have been in flow at some point in your life. It’s when everything seems to just happen as you wanted it. God, the Universe, whatever you call it, provides just the right opportunities at the right timing to make things seemingly “fall into place”.
But the real challenge is staying in that state of flow at all times.
The Paradox of Intention…
You must have goals. But your happiness cannot be tied to these goals. You must be happy BEFORE you attain them.
It’s great to have goals, you just don’t want to tie your happiness to them.
Always Expecting To Win…
Sam Walton, creator of Wal-Mart, said, “I go into every situation expecting to win. Thinking like this often turns into a self-fulfilling prophecy.”
Stop Worrying, And Merge Your Work & Play Together…
John D. Rockefeller, the richest man in the world in his time, wrote this:
I was early taught to work as well as play,
My life has been one long, happy holiday;
Full of work and full of play-
I dropped the worry on the way-
And God was good to me everyday.
Focus Only on the Good…
Sir Richard Branson was asked by Lakhiani, “You’re always happy, what do you do when you’re sad?”
…To which Branson replied, “I Can’t Remember the Bad Times. I only remember the good things that happened in my life.”
He’s wildly successful, with HUGE goals at all times, yet he’s always about having fun, perpetually in play. Even in moments of failure, it doesn’t faze him much.
Stay Happy No Matter What.
Happiness leads to success. Success doesn’t create happiness.
Happy In The Now. Vision For The Future.
Happiness in the now: how do we get there?
Bliscipline: staying happy on a daily basis is the most important discipline: the discipline of bliss. How do you achieve Bliscipline?
Start each morning with:
- Meditation – self-explanatory
- Visualization – spending 3 or 4 minutes in the morning visualizing your perfect, average, dream day, and your life as you want it to go over the next few years
- Intention Setting – when you start your day, you declare mentally how you want your day to go
- Inspirational Reading – read from great leaders, authors, and successful people who you are inspired & motivated by
- Mooky (Morning Nooky) – LoL
- Gratitude – If you practice gratitude for 5 minutes everyday for 30 days, a study shows you’ll be 25% happier than the control group
There is one great truth on this planet: whoever you are, or whatever it is that you do, when you really want something, it’s because that desire originated in the soul of the universe…
The soul of the world is nourished by people’s happiness.
When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it. – Paulo Coelho
End Goals vs Means Goals:
Society has brainwashed you.
You’ve been taught things like: going to college, getting a good job, buying a house, establishing a family, working your way up the corporate ladder, slave and sacrifice the first 50 years of your life so you can then – hopefully – retire and enjoy life.
But those are all simply Means Goals…they only get you to your end goals. And society has taught you they are important in and of themselves, but what’s truly important is pursuing your END GOALS.
Become clear on what YOU really want out of life – travelling, accomplishing certain goals, living out specific dreams – and pursue them relentlessly!
Smash the societal rules that don’t apply to you, that don’t help you reach your end goals.
Common Brules (Bullshit Rules) Held By Society:
- The pursuit of money is inherently BAD
- College education is necessary
- Aging is a part of life
- Success = Hard Work
- Be realistic in your goals
Intuition:
You don’t have to know HOW you’re going to reach a goal when you set it. Just trust your intuition, set the goal that comes to mind, and go for it! You’ll figure out the how as you go.
Intuition is knowing what you want, without worry of how you’ll get it.
The 3 Most Important Questions To Ask Yourself
Ask yourself these questions. Forget being realistic. Simply write down what comes to mind…don’t worry about how you’re going to get there, how you’ll achieve them. Just follow your intuition, go for them, act as if, realize the Universe/God is conspiring on your behalf, and you’ll figure out the hows as you go along.
1. What are the experiences I want to have in my life?
Think about things like:
- your love life
- money
- travels
- experiences
2. How do I want to grow?
- health and fitness
- your spiritual life
- your intellectual life
3. How do I want to contribute to the world?
- your career
- your family life
- a cause or community
You’re happy when you help others become happy.
– Dalai Lama
You can be happy experiencing life, acquiring material things, and more, but true fulfillment only comes from helping others.
