The People Who Are Crazy Enough To Think They Can Change The World
I remember the commercial Steve Jobs narrated in 1997, and as I read one FB Status and Tweet after another about his passing, seeing Richard Branson tweet a link to that very commercial made me think back to that short clip which had so much impact on me when I heard it. Read on, and watch the video below…
The last line is what really resonates with me, “The people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world…are the ones who do.”
Before I go too far here, I do want to point out that this post is in NO WAY a means of promotion for me or anything I want to push, I’ve seen so much of that in just the last 12-18 hours that it makes me sick…people preying on this moment to push their message, their agenda, or even their brand and products. I just want to share a few of my thoughts on how inspirational this visionary man was.
How Was Steve Jobs So Different Than Anybody Else?
I believe the answer may lie in this video, what I think is one of the most inspirational videos circulating on the internet, his keynote address at a Stanford University graduation ceremony a few years back.
Being the richest man in the cemetery doesn’t matter to me… Going to bed at night saying we’ve done something wonderful… that’s what matters to me.
– Steve Jobs (WSJ 1993)
I know personally, although I haven’t bought any Apple products…yet…he has inspired me to never stop dreaming, keep giant goals, and look to always make a difference in mankind.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world…
Are the ones who do!
How will you change the world?
