Have An Attitude Of Gratitude

It may sound cliche, but it really is true…having an attitude of gratitude for where you are at in life at this very moment, is what allows you to move forward toward your goals and dreams.

So many people are caught up in the day to day, mundane, drudgery of life. And you see their negativity on Facebook, at the coffee shop, on the news, and just about everywhere you go.

But I’m telling you, from my own experience, that if you choose to be grateful today for where you are now – knowing that you’re meant to be where you are now, it’s all for a reason –  are the situation and circumstances that will grow you and help you become the person you need to be to have the life you want to have. Make sense?

gratitude be grateful

You have goals, dreams, a vision…that’s GREAT! Keep going for it, never give up! But also be grateful for where you are now, knowing that there are things you need to experience and skills you need to develop in order to be ready to receive and manage everything (talents, help, money, opportunities, results, etc.) that will come your way as you reach for your dreams.

Contentment Vs. Complacency

Now, here’s where many people will take this the wrong way, thinking an “attitude of gratitude” means to be happy with where you’re at, believing where you’re at and what you have is all that’s meant for you – aka “settling”. But that’s not the point at all.

God wants you to be grateful for everything He has provided you – your skills, talents, treasure, time, circumstances, all creation around you.

But He also wants SO MUCH MORE for you! He’s given you potential and opportunities. He’s given you dreams and a purpose!

…Not for you to say, “I’m happy where I’m at, I shouldn’t waste time pursuing all those crazy dreams.”

NO! God gave you those dreams for a reason…To go after them!

The distinction here is the difference between the words Contentment and Complacency.

Complacency is settling for where you’re at, assuming that’s all God has meant for your life, refusing to put the effort into pursuing your goals & dreams. This is where most people in society are at today: complacent in their current circumstances, unwilling to do anything to move forward, achieve more, see more, do more, and impact more people’s lives. This is NOT the definition of having an attitude of gratitude.

Contentment is being grateful for what you have now and all God has provided you…but also knowing He has given you great potential to do so much more. You’re content with where you are now, you know it’s all for a reason, there’s something to get out of this moment that will better you…but you’re always striving for more with the resources and opportunities God gives you!

So have an Attitude of Gratitude starting NOW, and you’ll be amazed with how much more fulfilling your life will be!
